Reading Intervention Programs Modified FAME Program
FAME is a reading intervention program designed to help students with low reading ability. FAME stands for Foundations of Reading;Adventures in Reading; Mastery of Meaning; Explorations. In its original use, students showed an improvement of one-year grade equivalent per semester of instruction in the program. While Central Catholic does not incorporate the entire program, the use of the program has improves the reading ability of our low-ability readers. Adventures in ReadingThis course helps students in grades 7 - 12 who read between the 4th and 6th grade levels. Improving oral reading fluency and the ability to recognize words and meanings is the focus. Training for staff - February 26, 2007
